The documentary Zoo takes a closer look at men engaging in sexual acts with male horses. The men would almost train their horses to mount them. The animals didn't even realize what they were doing. They did not care if they were mounting a mare or a man. The horse got to experience pleasure and so did these men.
The issue the is wether or not this is animal cruelty. Many of the men engaging in sex with these horses took amazing care of them and treated them tenderly like a human partner. I believe these horses were better treated as lovers than they would have been treated if they were only pets. If the horse did not wish to engage in sexual activities with a man, then they are strong enough to have refused.
Jut like the Bloodhound Gang stated in their song The Bad Touch, "You and me baby ain't nothing but mammals, so let's do it like they do on the Discovery channel". They were just two mammals enjoying the natural pleasure of sex. If a man chooses to have an animal partner, and if the partner is seemingly accepting of this relationship, then I see no problem in letting them be. But when the animal is visibly harmed by this sexual activity, that is when the line is crossed.
Who are we to say that this relationship isn't beneficial to the animal? We are not an active member in someone else's relationship. We have no right to judge others, when we each partake in activities that every member of society isn't going to be fully excepting of. If someone enjoys bestiality, good for them. People around the world treat animals as lesser beings, these people treat them as valued lovers. Think about that.
