Playground.

By: Mary Beth

This was my playground for the first 18 years of life. On this playground I was queen of the monkey bars, with my suitors underneath "protecting me." On this playground I pretended I was a foreigner on the Titanic, singing the theme song with my third grade friend, Heather, and slipping down the slide like we were falling into the cold icy ocean. On this playground I accidently kicked Donnie Jones while swinging, and was sent to the principal's office.

This was my place to play, to explore, to learn and to wonder.

And now my playground has changed. It has increased in size substantially. There are now hundreds of opportunities and spaces to explore, and I could not be more thankful for this new location and adventure. I have grown and graduated to a place more suiting to my desires. But it doesn't hurt to look back every now and then to remember where I came from.
